# lights

Use the user's configured Hue integration, smart-home tools, or lighting CLI.
Discover available devices and supported commands from that integration. Do not
assume a bridge address, room inventory, account, script location, or preferred scene.
If no integration is configured, explain what connection is needed.

Translate a requested mood into a palette, brightness, transition, and scope.
Honor explicit settings and any established user preferences. Resolve an ambiguous
room or device before changing it; do not interpret an unspecified scope as the whole
home. Read-only status requests must not change lights.

For a natural-language integration, a useful request is:

“Set <requested room> to <mood>, using <palette>, <brightness>, and a gentle
transition. Report which lights changed and their resulting settings.”

Use a one-shot mode if the selected CLI otherwise opens an interactive session;
check its help for the actual flag. Allow enough time for the integration to finish.
Report returned device states faithfully. Distinguish a configuration or connectivity
failure from a successful change.
